It's Time for No Nonsense
Leadership
After considering it twice, 2020 is the year I decided to run for Lodi City Council, District 5. I plan to focus on Fiscal Responsibility, Public Safety, Helping Small Business rebound from COVID, and finding a solution for the Homeless.
I got started on the path to Leadership at a very young age. My family, especially my grandmother, was very active in the Masonic organizations. I joined Lodi DeMolay right at the minimum age of 13. After only being in the organization for 6 months I was approached by the advisory council to enter the top officers line in the chapter. Another young man was having to step down due to family reasons. They felt confident I was up to the task and I stepped right into the second highest office in the chapter. I attended a leadership training conference at Fresno State in the summer of 1983 for a week. I took office as Master Councilor in October of 1983 and to date I still hold the record as the youngest to do so at 15. I also hold a Meritorious Service award for my term. From then on almost every organization I have ever been involved with I have ascended to the top office.
I have worn a number of hats over the years from Entrepreneur to Firefighter/EMT to Radio DJ. Most recently leaving a morning radio show on KJOY in Stockton after 16 years. The reason being, I started a podcast prior to leaving radio. More of a labor of love since it is about hunting, fishing and conservation that is now a money making venture for my business.
Plus my business has transformed completely from Mobile Entertainment to an Audio Visual studio specializing in aerial video and video production. In that capacity, I have worked with a number of municipalities and cities as well as the San Joaquin Partnership for Economic Development with over 20 years of experience.
I am a very nuts and bolts kind of guy. I don’t look at a problem and ask why it can’t be done. I look at it and ask what do we have to do to make it work. I have considered running for Council twice in the past. Once I didn’t to care for my father who passed in 2012. The second time I passed because I didn’t feel it was the right time. Now…right now is the time. Our City Council needs some strong leadership. We have a number of issues that are still coming and will require some hard decisions. I have the utmost confidence in my abilities and experience to listen to the citizens of Lodi and make the right decisions.
As your city council member for District 5, I plan to focus on:
